Public data

Your chosen alias, comments, replies and timestamps may be public. Your email is private.

Private technical metadata

When you sign in or participate we may record IP address, browser, operating system, device class, referrer, language, time zone and screen size. Where the server can determine it, approximate country, region or city derived from IP may also be recorded.

We do not request GPS or precise device location.

Audience measurement

To understand which articles are read and which channels bring readers to the site, we record the visited path, referrer domain, UTM campaign parameters when present, language, general device class and a random browser identifier that the server stores only as a hash. This general measurement does not require sign-in and does not store IP addresses or the full referrer URL in the analytics table.

Campaign parameters are removed from the address bar after capture so the canonical URL stays clean.

Purpose

Technical metadata is used for security, abuse prevention, spam control, impersonation, threats, moderation and audit. It is private and limited to authorized administration.

Data minimization

The system should retain only technical data needed for security and moderation and review its retention periodically. Personal data is not sold and IP addresses are not published.
